See your work sail the world's seas
EIVA is a leading engineering company delivering cutting-edge solutions to the international maritime industries. We develop and provide equipment, software and various services to customers specialising in ocean sciences, offshore wind, oil and gas, and construction to name just a few fields we’re active in.
Our product portfolio includes sensor platforms (buoys and ROTVs (remotely operated towed vehicles)) fit for numerous fields of application. There is growing interest in EIVA’s products and we aim to remain at the cutting-edge of the industry by focussing on in-house development.
To support this ambition, we are on the lookout for a new crew member with an electronics engineering background who has a passion for low-volume electronics and experience in system and schematic design to join our expanding Hardware Development department.
What’s involved?
The successful candidate will join a strong, experienced team of software, mechanical, mechatronic, electronic and electrical engineers in helping our customers successfully map oceans, discover forgotten mines, establish offshore wind turbines and much more.
As an EIVA electrical engineer, you will play a vital role in the development of our hardware products and ensure the quality of our products. You will be involved in development projects from conception to production, either as an individual or as part of the team depending on the project, including:
- Diving into the depths of creating schematics and PCB designs, such as circuit design for a mainboard with an SoC interfacing with our subsea robots (ROTV)
- Breaking the waves of system design and sensor integration for our sensor platforms, such as our surface drones
- Taking the helm and navigating new projects through inception, prototyping. testing and to final delivery
You will be working with both maintenance and development of existing products as well as expanding EIVA’s fleet with new products. You will also work on unique custom-design projects alongside our customers in creating cutting edge technology for industry specific challenges.
The ideal candidate…
- Holds a degree in electrical engineering with a focus on electronics
- Thrives when handling varied disciplines within electronics development
- Has proven experience in hardware design, preferably in the low-volume electronics or technology industry
- Has experience in Altium designer for schematic and PCB design
- Holds a natural interest in gadgets and technology in general
- Takes initiative and holds a proactive approach to finding solutions to complicated issues
- Likes to get their hands on the products, tightening the screws themselves when testing prototypes
- Sees the big picture without losing sight of the details in a fast-paced environment
- Possesses strong English language skills (both written and spoken)
Knowledge of products for the maritime surveying and construction industry would be most welcome but is not a requirement. We know that we operate in a niche industry, so if you’re new to the maritime world, we’ll be sure to equip you with all necessary introductions to our activities and solutions before you dive into the EIVA waters.
