Do you have a technical understanding combined with good networking skills and a drive to increase sales numbers? If yes, you may be the technical sales manager we are looking for to join our expanding rental team. 

EIVA is a leading engineering company delivering cutting-edge solutions to the international maritime industries. We develop and provide equipment, software and various services to our customers who specialise in ocean sciences, offshore wind, oil and gas, and construction, to name just a few. Our rental services  are a vital part of our business for our customers who must prioritise operational expenses against capital expenditure depending on the time they will be using the equipment for operations.

The role of technical sales manager in the Rental team combines the task of strengthening EIVA’s position in existing markets through key account management, while also identifying and realising new opportunities for the rental product portfolio in uncharted market waters. As part of this, you’ll develop new business relationships and strengthen existing ones by providing clear guidance to help customers meet their deliverables and assist in defining equipment requirements.

You will be joining EIVA’s international sales network, with offices across Denmark, Germany, Brazil, the Philippines, Singapore and the UK. The focus on our rental offerings means that you will work closely with our Service and Production department and Shipping team on a daily basis, to ensure that all orders enjoy a safe journey throughout the timeframe of the rental project. 

The position is based out of the office in Stilling, Denmark, and you should expect to travel around 10-20 days per year. Travels will involve visiting existing and potential customers and attending exhibitions and other events where EIVA is represented.

Responsibilities

As technical sales manager, together with the existing rental team, you will:
  • Expand EIVA’s rental business within the subsea/offshore segments in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders in EIVA
  • Manage a mix of existing accounts and new territory, ensuring strong relationships with new and existing customers and partners
  • Respond to inquiries, which includes pricing, juggling reservations versus bookings on individual items in the equipment pool, and sourcing equipment externally when needed
  • Work closely with customers to invoice their specific uses and requirements while maintaining detailed records in EIVA’s ERP
  • Govern our list of second-hand sales equipment and handling inquiries related to the items on this list
  • Represent EIVA at exhibitions, conferences and other events

The ideal candidate…

  • Has a sales and technical background, such as a degree in Global Business Engineering or other engineering degrees – it’s a bonus if you are familiar with maritime/subsea technology and/or the offshore wind segment, but not a requirement 
  • Has a commercial, growth-oriented focus and a keenness to chase and close new business – sales experience is not a must, as long as the compass of your profile and job ambitions point towards sales waters
  • Thrives in managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, excelling under time-sensitive conditions
  • Is passionate for tasks related to the promotion of technical products
  • Has the confidence and enthusiasm to build and maintain good relations, enjoys engaging in dialogue with customers and diving into technical needs and setups and how to best meet these needs
  • Has some experience with ERP systems (like Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics NAV) for handling orders, invoicing, etc
  • Enjoys interacting with an international network of colleagues and customers where very few days are the same
  • Has strong English communication skills (both written and spoken)
