Basic curriculum topics are covered through eLearning modules, while the virtual classroom delves into advanced subjects, hands-on training, and provides direct, personalized interaction with the instructor.

Entry requirement

No prior knowledge of the EIVA NaviSuite software solutions is required

Training days

Day 1-2: NaviPac Pro
Day 3-4: NaviScan

Learning objectives

The course is structured around a general curriculum to give the trainees a broad understanding of the NaviSuite NaviPac and NaviScan software solutions and make them confident in the basic use of it

To enhance trainee competence and confidence, typical navigation and acquisition scenarios are used as examples throughout the course combined with hands-on training, thus taking advantage of the comprehensive simulation functionalities that have been implemented into the NaviPac and the NaviScan software solutions

During the course, trainees are guided through how to:

  • Install the NaviPac and NaviScan software solutions
  • Understand the basic architecture of the software
  • Perform simple configuration setup with introduction to instrumentation, geodesy and objects
  • Run various programs for different tasks (calibration, documentation, data quality control)
  • Log survey data for different tasks and in different formats
  • Start, configure and use the Helmsman’s Display
  • Create and manipulate waypoints and runlines
  • Use different map background formats
  • Control the logging process from the Helmsman’s Display
  • Utilise the reporting and eventing features of NaviPac
  • Perform NaviPac and NaviScan troubleshooting and alarm handling

Target group

The course is aimed towards operators who have basic navgation knowledge

Entry level

No prior knowledge of the EIVA NaviSuite software solutions is required. The training course is conducted in English

Duration

The duration of the classroom training is three days, from 9.00 – 16.00 UTC-5 (Houston US time), including breaks

Certificate

An EIVA NaviSuite training certificate is issued to each trainee upon completion of the course

EIVA eLearning

Access to EIVA eLearning for 30 days is incl. in the course fee to allow the participant to prepare for the course and continued access for an additional 12 months can be purchased at the reduced price of €125 if purchase is made before the free EIVA eLearning account expires

Access to NaviSuite

EIVA NaviSuite can be downloaded from our website for preparation purposes and can partially run in demo/simulation mode. Activation codes for full access and activation of the relevant NaviSuite software is provided for 30 days as part of the course
